Show-Me Central/Habitat For Humanity in Columbia has selected Jenni Berck and her two children as the home buyer family of the first Habitat For Humanity home to be built in Centralia by Show-Me Central/Habitat.
Berck's Centralia Habitat home will have three bedrooms and be approximately 1,100 square feet in size. There will be a porch and an attached carport (no garage) with a small utility shed.
Currently more than $9,000 has been donated by Centralia area Habitat supporters from a fund-raising meal, country store and silent auction, local sponsors and individual and church donations.

In 1994 HFH purchased land and developed the infrastructure -- streets, sewers, curbs for a subdivision. Norbury Hills is located on Oakland Gravel Road in Northeast Columbia and is named after Lee Norbury one of the founders of the local affiliate. Norbury Hills is a 28 Lot Subdivision-a total of 27 of the lots will be used for houses and one will be turned into a park and is currently in the completion phase with 4 houses to be built.
Currently a neighborhood associate and residents of the subdivision say a feeling of community is growing among Norbury's diverse population. The neighboord includes family from Rwanda, Eritrea, India, Cambodia, Mexico, Missouri and more including a hurricane survivor.
